A host of British Olympic and Paralympic champions from an incredible Tokyo 2020 Games have been recognised in the New Year’s Honours List for 2022.
CP Sport Ambassador Tully Kearney is amongst those on the list to receive an MBE following her success in the pool last summer.
During lockdown Tully continued training and installed an above ground pool to go in the garden which she swam in stationary attached to a bungee cord around the fence post. She also used a Frame Runner on the treadmill. Tully frequently attended the CP Sport cafes in lockdown giving everyone an amazing insight into her training from home.
Tully went to the delayed 2020 Paralympics which took place in 2021 and came away with an incredible 2 swimming medals, a gold in 100m freestyle S5 with a world record time of 1:14.39 and silver in 200m freestyle S5.
Tully said following her MBE,
“I am absolutely honoured to be awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours List for 2022! It really is the icing on the cake following my Paralympic gold!”
