Wheelchair RUGBY

Wheelchair Rugby is a full contact, fast and dynamic sport that combines elements of rugby, basketball and handball. Players compete in teams of four to carry the ball across the opposing team’s goal line to score.
Contact between wheelchairs is permitted, and is in fact an integral part of the sport as players use their chairs to block and hold opponents. The sport is open to both men and women, and is one of the only games which allows them to compete on the same team.
GB Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR) offers the sport for young people and their junior programme provides an opportunity for those aged 8-17 years to experience wheelchair rugby in a junior-only environment which currently has over 90 youngsters playing the game regularly.
GBWR also offer a range of projects and opportunities for adults who would like to try or compete in the sport.
What equipment will I need?
