Our ambassadors and patrons

Matthew Humphreys

Matthew Humphreys is one of England’s top RaceRunners. Since becoming involved with Cerebral Palsy Sport, Matthew’s confidence has grown and he now gives talks and motivational speeches, the first of which was the opening speech at Cerebral Palsy Sport’s National Disability Sports Conference in December 2015. He also represented Cerebral Palsy Sport doing the BBC Children in Need rickshaw challenge. He participates in as many conferences and charitable events as he can and is also a fully qualified level 2 coach for athletics.

On being asked to be a Cerebral Palsy Sport Young Ambassador Matthew said:

“I have been a ambassador for Cerebral Palsy Sport for the past 4 years and I am proud to be apart of such a good cause. With CP Sport I have been able to travel to Spain and meet new people, forming great friendships which is just a small benefit of what CP Sport has done for me. I also got the privilege of representing my country twice in the Cerebral Palsy World games in Nottingham in 2015 and San Cugat Spain in 2018 where I received my 400m race running gold medal. This is something I shall always be grateful for and I do believe that CP Sport helps me and others feel like we have somewhere where we belong.”

In 2020 Matt completed the virtual London Marathon on his RaceRunner.
