Sport: Football

Role: Manager

Hi, I have CP and wanted to tell you about some of my fantastic achievements that I’ve had in sport and how I’m getting on now. I am 40 years old now but about 6 years ago I decided to try and get back into football so I joined a local team where I’m from in Cumbria. Along side been a player I decided to I wanted to get into coaching the game that I love, so that’s exactly what I did. As the end of my first season with the team approached the manager decided that he could no longer take the team due to work commitments but fortunately at that time I was finishing my coaching course and having had 1 season with the team I thought that I would give it a go.
Before I was manager in the 10 seasons previous the team hadn’t really been successful in the league and had limited funds and players, but in the 6 years I’ve been here the team which is a 5 a side team by the way at one point had 22 players and we have won 8 trophies in total. Not only are we one of the best team’s in our league but in 2023 I was lucky enough to win The Cumberland FA Coach of the year Award (Disability Pathway) which was a massive honour to receive not only for my hard work, but the teams hard work too. I am so proud to be Windscale Pan Disability Manager and I hope they are proud to play for a fantastic club.
