Come and support the CP Sport National Athletics Championships!
The staff and volunteers at CP Sport are looking forward to welcoming athletes and their families and supporters to the track at Warwick University next Saturday, 17th September. We will be recognising the life and death of Queen Elizabeth II at 09.55 with the National Anthem, just prior to the first track event starting at 10.00am, with the first field event at 10.15am.
Medal ceremonies are scheduled for 12.00 and at 3.45pm with our Board member and Paralympian and former cp-athlete Esther Jones handing out the medals.
If driving, in your satnav use postcode CV4 8UW.
Please park in car park 12 in the map shown, which is next to the track. You must pay with the electronic system, which requires downloading an app, otherwise you will get fined. You may wish to have some loose change as a backup.
The programme for the day outlines the event schedule, which may change.
Registration for athletes starts at 08.30am. We will look to have the registration table inside the entrance to the track from car park 12 unless it is raining, in which case we will probably move the registration table inside the Coventry Godiva Clubhouse.
Claire Lavers will be the safeguarding lead for the day with Lisa Sutton as her back-up. Look out for Claire and Lisa and say hello! They will be wearing yellow high viz vests and there to support if there is anything you feel you need to share on the day. CP Sport’s safeguarding policy can be accessed through this link.
The Warwick University track is home of Coventry Godiva Harriers, who will have their cafe open for the day. You are welcome to bring your own food and snacks.
There is limited shelter in the club house and change rooms – so please bring warm and wet weather clothing if the weather looks unfavourable. There are accessible change rooms and toilets.
Quest will be present exhibiting frame runners for those who would like to take a look/get measured up. Quest can help with any equipment issues on the days for wheelchair racers and frame runners.
CP Sport are so looking forward to welcoming you to Warwick University in just over a week’s time and to cheer you on as you compete.
Warmest wishes
Claire and the team.
