Cerebral Palsy Sport is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Day as Interim Chief Executive Officer.
The 6-month role has been implemented to strengthen the strategic leadership of the organisation and lead the development of ambitious plans to deliver our vision for the future.
Steven starts immediately and will work closely with CP Sport’s strong and committed board of trustees and the wider CP Sport team. He will work to ensure that people with cerebral palsy shape the future direction of the organisation and build strong foundations upon which a step change in impact is seen.
Steven brings with him a wealth of experience of leadership roles within sport, including as Head of Grassroots Development at The FA, where he was responsible for disability football development, and as Chief Executive at Fulham FC Foundation. He has held a range of Non-Executive Director roles, including as Chair of Active Surrey and is currently a Non-Executive Director at Playfinder.
Welcoming Steven to the organisation, chair of CP Sport, Lynne Wardle said,
Steve’s background and skills are ideal for the development of CP Sport in this interim phase prior to the appointment of a permanent CEO. His wealth of experience of leadership, sport development and partnership growth will help prepare the groundwork to lead us into the next stage of our strategy.”
Steven, who will continue his consulting role for UEFA, said of the appointment:
“I am delighted to be supporting CP Sport during this interim period and I am looking forward to working with the team at this exciting time for the organisation.”
“I’m passionate about supporting CP Sport in their role of making sport accessible to everyone with cerebral palsy and helping develop and implement their new strategy to pave the way for a successful future.”
