Cerebral Palsy Sport is celebrating its 20th year of supporting thousands of young people and adults with cerebral palsy through events, training and partnerships. With the lack of opportunities to run in-person events in 2020, we developed our online and virtual offer in a way we had never done before, successfully running online cafes, a virtual awards ceremony, a virtual challenge series and set up our rental equipment service in partnership with Quest, all through our new Go Membership platform.
As we developed our new strategy, it was important to consider our digital plan going forwards. This new approach will help keep the community connected even more, enable them to find opportunities to be active at the click of a button and provide a more enhanced online offer for professionals, partners and clubs.
We started tender and interview process at the beginning of 2021 to recruit a website development company, and alongside that recruit a graphic designer to refresh the brand to bring the organisation up to date.
Sandy Drummond, Head of Marketing and Communications at Cerebral Palsy Sport , said:
“It’s a really exciting time for Cerebral Palsy Sport. Following the challenging impact of COVID-19 on sport and our members, we are really looking forward to getting activities up and running again. The move to online events and services were crucial in keeping our members connected and active throughout the pandemic as well as the support from our virtual fundraising activities. We’ve had the opportunity to review our digital offer while developing our new strategy, the heart of which is providing access and opportunity for people with cerebral palsy to be active and have fun. We chose graphic designer Amy Goodall at Mad About the Brand to develop our new logo and brand identity for her bold style, creativity and originality and Embrace Marketing as our website development partner based on their design, technical and not-for-profit experience. We knew that we’d collaborate well with them during this important project. We are looking forward to launching our refreshed brand and website this summer which is set to be an exciting time for sport.”
Becky Reardon, Managing Director, Embrace Marketing said
“We are delighted to have been chosen to develop the new Cerebral Palsy Sport website. From our research for the pitch, we gained a real affinity for the fantastic work that the charity does. We were keen to show our enthusiasm during the pitch, sharing different ideas on how we could develop a strong UX for all stakeholders and an impactful website to bring their refreshed brand to life. We’re excited to kick-off the project by running two collaborative workshops on UX and branding messaging.”
Amy Goodall, Graphic Designer at Mad About The Brand added:
“It was an honour to be appointed to design the new visual identity for Cerebral Palsy Sport – for me, a project such as this with such an incredibly important mission in this world makes the work even more enjoyable and meaningful. Working with Sandy and the team was a pleasure, and I am so proud of the results. Just cannot wait to see all the branding in action and I hope that the members of CP Sport feel I have done them justice – I found reading about what CP Sport do (and the incredible athletes that they support) as part of the ‘getting to know the organisation’ process extremely inspiring.”
Look out for the results later this summer!
