CP Sport collected a range of profiles from people with CP that participate in sport, as well as profiles from coaches, physiotherapists and parents of players to use as promotional material during the #CPAwarenessMonth. We aim to encourage more people with CP to take part in sport by sharing positive stories and delivering opportunities.
How I benefit from playing sport: Keeps me fit and healthy and also helps me socially interact with others that have cerebral palsy. Sport has helped me battle mental health.
The impact sport has had on my life: Sport has given me a pathway to help me grow and get stronger but also show others anything is possible.
My ambitions in sport: To play for England and represent the country for as long as I can and win international trophies for England. I also want to support the next generation of footballers.
What would you say to others with CP about playing sport: Be strong, confident and believe in yourself. We are all given cerebral palsy to inspire each other and support one another through the difficult times. My quote is “People with a disability do not need to be fixed; they need to be accepted for who they are”.
