CP Sport collected profiles from people with CP that have participated in physical activity during 2023. The profiles are being used to celebrate and showcase the activities that have been achieved this year.

Which sports did you participate in during 2023: Shot put, discus and javelin
What was your biggest achievement in physical activity in 2023: Attending training sessions twice per week, going to the gym and using my weights at home.
How did you benefit from participating in physical activity throughout 2023: Improving my fitness stops my CP leg from getting too stiff, it makes competing easier too and I’ve made lots of new friends at training. I have met lots of younger athletes that know that I’ve competed on the England team for CPISRA, they’ve asked for my autograph and photo. I feel like a role model for them showing them that I work hard, that’s how I’ve benefitted from physical activity throughout 2023.
What would you like to achieve in sport in 2024: I would like to achieve personal bests in shot put, discus and javelin if possible.
Which other sports would you like to try in 2024: Football
What would you say to other people with CP that are thinking of trying physical activity in 2024: I would say stop thinking and just do it you won’t regret it you’ll become fitter stronger and enjoy competing it may also stop you becoming too stiff.
